On 12 July 2013, Anatoly Kucherena, together with other rights advocates, arrived in Sheremetyevo Airport to meet Edward Snowden. Later, in the course of a face-to-face meeting, Anatoly Kucherena familiarized Edward Snowden with the details of the relevant Russian laws and assisted him in the execution and filing of necessary documents with the Federal Migration Service as well as in the accommodation in Russia. Since then Anatoly Kucherena has been Edward Snowden’s lawyer. According to Anatoly Kucherena, who judges by the long contacts with his client, Snowden is actually concerned about the observance of the human rights all over the world. According to Snowden, there are places in the world where the law lacks or is observed by nobody. Such a situation needs to be changed. Those who observe the law should be protected. Oddly to say, but such people are the most vulnerable type of people.
